I checked on some European car market news and I found out that Toyota pledged to boost its European market share in 2009. Toyota Europe says it will bounce back in 2009 after its new-car sales fell 10 percent to 1,119,521 in 2008, compared with the year before. Toyota Europe CEO Tadashi Arashima said the company expected that 2008 would be a difficult year for Toyota and Lexus because the brands had fewer model launches. “This, coupled with global market upheaval, significantly impacted our sales volume and production levels,” Arashima said. He also added that Toyota expected a tough year ahead in Europe but he promised the automaker would increase its market share through a product offensive of 12 new Toyota and four new Lexus models. Some good news for Toyota though, was that combined Toyota and Lexus hybrid sales increased 18 percent to 57,819 in 2008. Sales of the Prius were up 29 percent to 41,495. The Yaris small-segment car was Toyota’s best seller in Europe last year, although its sales fell 10 percent to 239,155 vehicles.

I am currently on the lookout for some used hubcaps because for some reason, the hubcaps from my two cars got stolen, and those were the only things that the thief has taken. The bus is always hard to catch because it’s always too early for me and my schedule. So I end up running towards the subway so I could reach my office on time, which is always crowded. Power sources include on-board or out-board rechargeable energy storage system (RESS), gasoline or diesel fuel, hydrogen, compressed air, human powered like pedaling or rowing, wind (which I think is a little farfetched), compressed or liquefied natural gas, solar and coal, wood or other solid combustibles. I was really impressed how this type of model was created and I was thinking, maybe it is about time that I think of the nature and start helping to save it, one random kindness at a time. Maybe this way, I could also tell people to save the earth.
